Kulsoom Abdullah started out as a CrossFitter and eventually became an Olympic Lifter. However, Kulsoom lifts fully covered in a hijab, and is not allowed by the IWF to compete in national and international events. Kulsoom petitioned the IWF on a compromise that would allow her to further her Olympic Lifting career and, in the process, become a spokesperson for women living under different cultural beliefs to be included in the athletic community on an Olympic level.  Check out her story here.
